(headquartered in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, CEO Takehiko Terada) are pleased to announce that the deep-learning framework “ailia SDK” has been adopted for “CLIP STUDIO PAINT for Galaxy,” an illustration/cartoon/anime creation software by CELSYS, Inc. (headquartered in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, President Kei Narushima) for the Samsung Galaxy Series.

ailia SDK is a deep-learning framework developed and offered by Axell and ax that specializes in inferencing. It loads models learned through learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Keras, TensorFlow, and Chainer, and enables high-speed inferencing on edge devices. ailia SDK provides cross-platform support for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, and Jetson.

CLIP STUDIO PAINT for Galaxy offers all the features of “CLIP STUDIO PAINT,” an illustration/cartoon/anime creation software used by over eight million people worldwide. It enables users to enjoy a smooth and natural drawing experience by making the most of the special S Pen for Galaxy devices.

While ailia SDK had already been adopted in the Windows, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS editions of CLIP STUDIO PAINT, it has now arrived in CLIP STUDIO PAINT for Galaxy for Android platforms. ailia SDK enables independently implemented high-speed inferencing using Vulkan on Android. This allows users to exploit the GPU’s potential for high-speed inferencing on Android devices to the full. It also enables them to share model files (ONNX) and API across different platforms for efficient implementation of AI applications. In CLIP STUDIO PAINT for Galaxy, ailia SDK is used for “smart smoothing,” a feature that reduces the jagginess occurring when resolution is changed or when an image is enlarged.

Utilizing ailia SDK’s cross-platform support and ability to perform high-speed inferencing on various GPUs, Axell and ax will continue to support customers deploying AI in their applications.
